Service Description

In this weekly, 2-hour class, students will explore their creativity through drawing, reading, writing and making! Participants will learn the fundamentals of art as they use a variety of mediums to create beautiful artwork in our signature style. They will learn art history through an in-depth study of two famous artists, Claude Monet and Georgia O'Keefe. The books, Claude Monet: He Saw the World in Brilliant Light and Georgia O'Keefe: She Saw the World in a Flower will be read together aloud in class. Students will replicate Monet and O'Keefe's work and complete a biography flip book report. In addition, participants will continue studying the Elements of Art (form, texture and space) through the creation of an Interactive Art Sketchbook. We will celebrate Valentine's Day with a card exchange and special class activity! Artists will showcase their work (from the entire year or semester) at our ART SHOW held during the first week of May. It will be a special time for your child to invite family and close friends to admire their beautiful masterpieces and share about everything they've learned! PLEASE READ: This is a semester-long, 15-week commitment. The cost is $95 per month for four months, January-April, totaling $380 for the spring semester (30 hours of instruction).
