Service Description

PLEASE CAREFULLY READ THROUGH ALL INFORMATION BEFORE ENROLLING. *Registration is for the entire 2023/24 school year (September-April). *Class is open to students in grades 1-5. Artists must have completed kindergarten to attend (no exceptions). *Everything will be NEW this year! In this weekly 2-hour class, students will explore their creativity through reading, writing, making and creating! Participants will learn the fundamentals of art as they are introduced to a wide variety of mediums and new processes to make beautiful masterpieces in our signature style. They will learn art history through an in-depth study of four famous artists: Katsushika Hokusai, Edgar Degas, Frida Kahlo, and Faith Ringgold. The Met "What the Artist Saw" biographies will be read aloud and discussed together in class. Students will learn about how each artist saw the world and their unique artistic styles. They will replicate famous artwork, complete comprehension/vocabulary/art reflection activities, and create a simple biography report about each artist. Participants will also study the seven Elements of Art (color, line, shape, value, form, texture and space) through the creation of a fun Interactive Sketchbook. In addition to our art history study, students will make holiday projects, including the cutest + merriest Christmas projects in December, exchange friendship cards for Valentine’s Day in February, and show off their masterpieces from the entire school year during our Art Show in May! PLEASE READ: This is a year-long, 29-week commitment. The cost is $100 per month for eight months, September-April, totaling $800 for the year ($400 per semester). Cost includes all instruction (58 hours), materials, and special class activities. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to enroll your child and secure their space for the year. Monthly invoices will be emailed and are due by the 5th of each month September-April. Enroll only if you are able to: *Commit to the entire 2023/24 school year *Make timely payments by the 5th of each month * FALL DROP POLICY: The last day to drop is September 30, 2023.
